Geoff Dessent is Deputy Director for health and wellbeing at the Department of Health, leading on 3 policy areas – physical activity, children and young people’s health improvement, and health and work. He has been a civil servant for over 30 years, and worked in the Home Office, Treasury, Insolvency Service, and the Department of Trade and Industry. He has worked on a range of diverse topics including Nuclear Waste, Home Accidents, Fire reseach, the financial regime of the Insolvency service and sexual health. Geoff lives in Surrey and is married with two children.
